SMO 254 Sheets and Plates consist of about 19.5-20.5% Chromium, 17.5-18.5% Nickel, 6-6.5% Molybdenum, 0.18-0.22% Nitrogen, with trace quantities of Manganese, Silicon, Phosphorus, Sulfur, and Carbon, with the rest being Iron. They are mechanically furnished with a tensile strength of 650 MPa, yield strength of 300 MPa, hardness of up to 100 HB, and elongation of 35%. Their physical properties are a density of 8 g/cm³, thermal conductivity of 14.5 W/m·K, and electrical resistivity of 85 µΩ·cm. They have these properties as a result of which they suit highly corrosive environments demanding extremely high strength and durability.
