Stainless Steel 309H Sheets and Plates are composed of chromium (22–24%), nickel (12–15%), and carbon (0.04–0.10%), with additions of manganese (≤2%), silicon (≤1%), phosphorus (≤0.045%), and sulfur (≤0.03%). The high chromium and nickel content ensures excellent resistance to oxidation and scaling, while the higher carbon percentage enhances creep strength and thermal stability. Mechanically, these sheets and plates offer a tensile strength of approximately 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of 40%. They retain excellent mechanical properties, toughness, and structural integrity even under prolonged high-temperature exposure.

Due to excellent corrosion resistance, these sheets are manufactured at very high temperatures. Mechanical properties are improved by that manufacturing process. They are available with thicknesses in range of 3 mm up to 50 mm and width up to 2000 mm for structural and industrial applications.
The cold rolled plates were produced at room temperature with a polish finish. The plates come in various thicknesses from 0.5 mm to 6 mm and widths as much as 1500 mm making it very ideal for precision and aesthetic purposes.
